For how much these rails cost, they really should be better.
Ill start with the good points the quick-release rack fittings are pretty good. Theyre a little awkward to push in far enough to slide the rails up and out when youre reaching into the back of a rack one-handed, but it still beats having to screw them into place.
I used these with SC-23400-4 and SC-23400-2 cases and the front fixed portion of the rack rail needs to be unscrewed and moved forward to the next set of holes on the sliders or else the inner rails bottom out before the server is fully home. Additionally, the tabs which hold the rack ears in place foul the outer rails when the server is pushed all the way in, although the fit is close enough that a shove will get them all the way in.
On the negative, theyve got really flimsy safety catches which stop the server being pulled all the way out or slid back in unless youre pulling the release tabs, and the second time I was sliding a server equipped with these rails in, the safety catch broke free from the release tag, leaving me with a server locked fully-extended from the rack. In the end I had to remove the surrounding equipment to give me room to unclip the rails from the rack and tilt them sideways to remove them along with the still-extended server, then turn it upside-down and jiggle the rails around for a while until the safety catch decided to release.
So I strongly recommend double and triple-checking the release mechanisms before sliding servers in on these rails - depending how loose of a fit the locking pawl is, it can pop off of the release lever and jam. The rest of my rails were okay, but the one which jammed up on me I just pried the locking pawl off with a screwdriver before refitting it, on the assumption I wont suddenly grab the server and yank it all the way out of the rack for no reason.
